Netscape Communicator 4.5
START HERE
- Open Netscape Communicator.
- From the menu bar, click on "Edit", then "Preferences".
The following steps correspond to the above image.
- The category "Navigator" is where you change your start page.
To use psnw.com, in the "Location" box enter
http://www.psnw.com/
- Next, go to the category "Mail & Newsgroups", then "Identity".

The following steps correspond to the above image.
- For "Your name", type in your name as you want it
to appear in outgoing e-mails
(John Smith, The Smith Family).
- For "Email address", enter your e-mail address
(username@psnw.com).
- Next, go to the category "Mail Servers" under "Mail & Newsgroups".

The following steps correspond to the above image.
- For "Outgoing (SMTP) server" enter
mailhost.psnw.com
- For "Outgoing mail server user name," please leave this field blank.
- Next, to "Incoming Mail Servers," click on the "Add" button.

The following steps correspond to the above image.
- For "Server Name" enter
mailhost.psnw.com
- For "Server Type" select "POP3 Server".
- For "User Name" enter username-psnw.com.
EXAMPLE: If your e-mail address is sally@psnw.com, your user name would be sally-psnw.com.
- To have Netscape check your e-mail automatically,
check the box next to "Check for mail every 15 minutes",
and specify how often you want Netscape to check your e-mail.
- To have Netscape save your e-mail password, check the box
next to "Remember password".
- Click on the "OK" button.

- Next, go to the category "Newsgroup Servers" under "Mail & Newsgroups"

- Click on the "Add..." button.

The following steps correspond to the above image.
- For "Server:" enter
news.psnw.com
- For "Port" enter
119
- "Supports encrypted connections (SSL)" should be unchecked.
- Click on the "OK" button.

- Click on the "Advanced" category, then "Cache".
The following steps correspond to the above image.
- Cache stores copies of frequently accessed web documents on your computer.
This screen allows you to clear the cache which can accumulate at times and consume precious disk space.
- Next go to the category "Proxies" under "Advanced".

- "Direct connection to the Internet" should be selected.
- Click on the "OK" button.
